Hamish Munro BSc(Hons), MRes – Sports and Exercise Science
Studying at Robert Gordon University, Hamish’s thesis examined core exercises and tested new methods of training that had yet to be scientifically examined. During his Masters degree, he investigated high-intensity training methods whilst using the latest team heart rate monitoring technology. Hamish has over 10 years experience playing and working in a sporting environment, mainly in the north-east of Scotland, but as far afield as Australia with Shepparton South Soccer Club. For over 6 years, Hamish has been working with young people who have emotional and social difficulties, including autistic spectrum disorders and behavioral difficulties. In a challenging, yet rewarding workplace, having great success in improving the health and lives of others.
For the past 5 years, Hamish has been at the SFA Elite Performance Academy in Aberdeen working with some of the most talented athletes in Scotland, providing strength and conditioning sessions, mobility, nutrition, rehabilitation, technique analysis, fitness testing and sports science advice. Personal clients looking for help with their goals approached Hamish, where reputation through word of mouth increased the demand for his services; he is now in a position to take on more clients looking for success.
Hamish is also a published author as well as a varied selection of coaching qualifications such as badminton, cricket and football. He is never one to shy away from a challenge and enjoys all sorts of activities. An enthusiastic snowboarder, adventure seeker and father of three, he will always look for a fun way to exercise. He will get his children involved in almost all aspects of his life, stating that they make excellent resistance when performing home workouts as well as great food testers for all our recipes.
